In recent times, a perplexing perception has emerged that suggests the 16.1 million Jews worldwide are somehow ruling the entire world. Whether rooted in conspiracy or misunderstanding, this notion raises significant questions about the perceived influence wielded by Israel. The query that naturally arises is why only a few Muslim countries actively oppose Israel, while the majority remain silent on the matter.
A closer examination of the Muslim community reveals internal divisions that significantly impact its stance on global issues. Approximately 80 percent of Muslim clerics worldwide have been criticized for perpetuating sectarianism, further fragmenting the Muslim world. The narrative of division is further exacerbated by the choices made by affluent Muslims, who often appear detached from the struggles faced by their less privileged counterparts.
To fully comprehend the complexities of this situation, it is crucial to consider the historical context. Many groundbreaking inventions and advancements have been attributed to non-Muslims, prompting introspection among Muslims about the practical application of lessons derived from the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.). The gap between rhetoric and action raises questions about the implementation of Islamic principles in the contemporary world.
Some argue that Israel’s success lies in its adherence to three key principles derived from the Prophet’s advice: Education, business, and brotherhood. The Jewish community has effectively leveraged these principles to attain global influence, leaving Muslims grappling with their perceived subservient status to Israel.
The broader Muslim community must engage in self-reflection regarding its position in the world today. With the majority seemingly passive or silent in the face of injustices, there is an urgent need for self-assessment. The issue extends beyond geopolitical conflicts to the core values and principles that should unite Muslims globally.
It is essential to acknowledge the efforts of countries like Kuwait, Qatar, Iran and Turkey in supporting the Palestinians, as without their intervention, the global response might have been even more muted. The Israel-Hamas conflict is a multifaceted issue that demands careful consideration of historical, geopolitical, and ideological factors. As the world grapples with the aftermath of the recent escalation, Muslim countries, in particular, face critical questions about their unity, adherence to principles, and their role in shaping a more just and peaceful future.
Addressing the challenges within the Muslim Ummah requires a comprehensive approach. The community must move beyond traditional divides and emphasize education, technology, and self-defense. The narrative should shift from the passive acceptance of injustice to active engagement in creating a world that reflects the principles of justice, equality, and compassion outlined in Islamic teachings.
Efforts should be made to bridge the gap between the affluent and less privileged within the Muslim community. Rather than perpetuating sectarianism, Muslim clerics should play a role in fostering unity and understanding among different sects. This internal unity can provide a stronger foundation for addressing global issues and advocating for justice on the international stage.
The challenges facing the Muslim Ummah in the contemporary world are multifaceted. It requires a collective effort to overcome internal divisions, prioritize education and technology, and actively engage in global issues. By doing so, the Muslim community can contribute meaningfully to creating a more just and peaceful world, addressing the perplexing perceptions that have arisen and fostering a sense of unity and solidarity among its members.
