Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that the political character of the BJP is anti-people. He alleged that the party deceives in politics and betrays democracy. Under BJP rule, he claimed, the law and order situation in the state has collapsed, there is no rule of law, hospitals are in poor condition, and the poor are not receiving proper medical treatment.

Addressing a large number of party workers from various districts at the Samajwadi Party state headquarters in Lucknow on April 9, Mr. Yadav said that greater caution must be exercised in the 2027 Assembly elections than in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He warned party workers to remain alert to BJP’s alleged conspiracies. He said that the public wants change and is prepared to remove the BJP from power. According to him, people want a Samajwadi Party government, and everyone must work carefully and collectively to achieve this. He also alleged that fake signatures were being used in the SIR process to delete votes and questioned why the Election Commission was inactive.
Mr. Yadav urged party workers and leaders to visit booths and inform people about the failures of the BJP government. He accused the government of deceiving the public in the name of Smart City projects and said that traffic management in the capital and other major cities has deteriorated, with frequent traffic jams. He criticized the ₹7,000 crore Green Corridor project in Lucknow, calling its design flawed and saying police deployment is required at every intersection.
He further alleged that not a single power plant has been established during the BJP’s nine-year rule, leading to poor electricity services and irregularities in billing through smart meters. He claimed that electricity consumers are suffering. He also accused the government of shutting down the Kannauj cow milk plant and said the government has failed to create new infrastructure while damaging projects built by the Samajwadi Party, including selling farmers’ markets. He described the BJP government as anti-farmer.
Mr. Yadav asserted that during the Samajwadi Party’s tenure, significant development work was carried out, including introducing expressways in the state and constructing world-class roads like the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. He concluded by saying that corruption and loot have reached record levels under the BJP, and to bring Uttar Pradesh back on the path of development, the BJP must be removed from power.
