Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a private program held in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. In a fiery speech, he lauded the people of Ballia for defeating the BJP in the recent Lok Sabha elections and declared that the next time, they would “drain the BJP of its oil,” a phrase symbolizing total political defeat.
Mocking BJP’s past claims of “discovering oil” in Ballia, Akhilesh quipped that it was the people who actually drained BJP’s energy and support. He praised the electorate’s wisdom and resolve, claiming that Ballia had sent a strong message by standing against the ruling party and foreshadowed a more decisive blow in future elections.
Yadav emphasized the importance of the Indian Constitution and attributed the BJP’s current struggles to the very democratic rights enshrined in it. “It is because of the Constitution created by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar that the BJP can even walk the streets today,” he said. He added that the Constitution continues to protect the rights of the poor, the oppressed, and the underprivileged, and it empowers them to raise their voice against injustice.
Referring to recent political unrest in the region, including incidents like the burning of tyres and an attempted attack on SP leader Ramjilal Suman, Akhilesh said that Samajwadi Party workers are not afraid, even in the face of “naked swords.” He declared that those who enter politics must be prepared for such dangers and remain fearless in their fight for justice.
Addressing the controversial behavior of SP MLA Lalchand Gautam, Akhilesh acknowledged it as a mistake and assured that the party would counsel him to avoid such conduct in the future. He challenged the BJP to similarly take responsibility for the actions of its leaders and questioned the ruling party on national security issues, asking how terrorists continue to infiltrate the country.
Through his address, Akhilesh Yadav not only sharpened his political attack on the BJP but also reaffirmed his commitment to constitutional values and people’s power. His remarks signal a strong build-up to upcoming electoral battles in Uttar Pradesh.
