On the 79th Independence Day of India, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a stirring message to the people of the state, urging every citizen to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to their duties for the nation. Speaking after hoisting the national flag at the Vidhan Bhawan in Lucknow, the CM described Independence Day as a “grand festival” for every Indian, a day to renew resolve, honor sacrifices, and work towards the vision of a “Developed India” by 2047.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of a developed nation by the centenary of independence can be achieved if civil society sincerely fulfills its responsibilities. “We must prepare our youth according to present needs and future requirements so that they can contribute their strength and talent to Uttar Pradesh in the coming times,” he said, underlining the government’s continuous efforts in this direction.

The celebrations were marked by cultural performances from artists representing Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. A helicopter showered flower petals over the gathering, adding grandeur to the occasion. The CM honored the families of numerous martyrs, including Shaurya Chakra awardee Lt. Hari Singh Bisht, Kargil hero Major Ritesh Sharma, and several others who laid down their lives for the nation’s integrity and security. Tricolor balloons were released into the sky, symbolizing the soaring aspirations of the country.
Reflecting on India’s 78-year journey since independence, Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, freedom fighters, revolutionaries, and the armed forces safeguarding the nation. He recalled “Operation Sindoor” as a testament to India’s military strength and technological prowess, highlighting the role of indigenous defense capabilities such as the BrahMos missile produced in Lucknow. He urged citizens to embrace the indigenous model, supporting local artisans, farmers, and industries to ensure that India’s wealth benefits its own people.
Drawing attention to ongoing deliberations in the UP Assembly and Legislative Council, the CM revealed that the state is working on three core themes—Economic Strength, Creative Strength, and Life Force across 12 key sectors. He announced that 500 intellectuals and subject experts will engage with universities, colleges, and communities to gather at least one suggestion from every family in the state for the “Developed India, Developed Uttar Pradesh” roadmap. The best ideas will be rewarded, and within three months, a comprehensive vision document for Uttar Pradesh 2047 will be prepared in collaboration with NITI Aayog.
Reaffirming his belief in disciplined freedom, the CM said that liberty must operate within the framework of the Constitution drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. With India now ranked as the world’s fourth-largest economy—up from 11th place just over a decade ago—he expressed confidence that by 2047, India will stand as a global power.
Yogi Adityanath’s address was not merely a commemoration of the past but a rallying cry for collective action—blending respect for heritage with a forward-looking vision that seeks to transform Uttar Pradesh into a driving force of a strong, self-reliant, and developed India.
