The Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate has handed over nearly 200 historical artifacts, which had been kept at the ministry for many years, to the National Museum. Officials at the Ministry of Defense stated that these artifacts, which date back 300 years, include metal utensils, wooden containers, samovars, military equipment, and other items. Jamaluddin Haqjo, Deputy Commander of the Support Brigade at the Ministry of Defense, told TOLOnews: “These artifacts were stored inside containers. They were discovered during a clearing process we conducted.”
Meanwhile, officials at the National Museum praised the transfer of historical and ancient artifacts from the Ministry of Defense to the museum. Sibghatullah Abed, the director of the National Museum, told TOLOnews: “The Islamic Emirate is committed. The Ministry of Defense, the Intelligence Directorate, and the Ministry of Interior have always handed over historical artifacts to us that were either seized from smugglers or discovered during the Republic era.”
Mohammad Yahya, Deputy Director of the National Museum, speaking about the recently transferred artifacts, said: “Approximately 195 items, consisting of various pieces, have been handed over to the National Museum. These artifacts belong to various Islamic periods.”
In continuation of the process of transferring historical artifacts to the National Museum, the Ministry of Information and Culture recently announced that it had prevented 169 historical items from being smuggled out of the country and had transferred them to the National Museum.
