The Ambassador of Kuwait to India, Mishal Mustafa Al-Shamali, recently met with Arun Kumar Chatterjee, Under-Secretary of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs for Gulf Affairs, Consular Affairs, Passports, Visas, and Indian Expatriates. The meeting underscored the enduring and multifaceted partnership between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of India, highlighting their shared history and aspirations for further collaboration.
While talking to Arabian Times, Ambassador Al-Shamali expressed satisfaction with the positive and constructive nature of Kuwaiti-Indian engagements, during their discussions. He emphasized that both nations share identical viewpoints on various issues, reflecting their strong diplomatic alignment. The ambassador praised the advanced level of relations between Kuwait and India, signaling that the coming months will witness heightened bilateral activities, including visits and meetings between senior officials of both countries.
Chatterjee reaffirmed the depth of ties between Kuwait and India, underscoring their long-standing history of cooperation and mutual respect. He highlighted the importance of further strengthening these relations across diverse fields, such as trade, energy, education, and cultural exchange. The conversation also addressed practical aspects of cooperation, particularly concerning consular affairs, facilitating the movement of people, and supporting Indian expatriates residing in Kuwait.
India and Kuwait enjoy robust trade relations, with Kuwait being a key supplier of oil and petroleum products to India. Additionally, the substantial Indian expatriate community in Kuwait, which forms a vital part of Kuwait’s workforce, further strengthens the socio-economic ties between the two nations.
