The Samajwadi Party marked the 92nd birth anniversary of the late Janeshwar Mishra, a towering figure in Indian socialist politics, with great enthusiasm and reverence at the Janeshwar Mishra Park in Lucknow. The celebration was led by the Samajwadi Party Chief, Shri Akhilesh Yadav, who paid floral tributes and shared heartfelt memories of the socialist stalwart.

Hundreds of party workers, leaders, and supporters gathered at the park early in the morning to commemorate the life and contributions of Janeshwar Mishra, who was affectionately known as the “Chhote Lohia” for carrying forward the legacy of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia’s socialist ideology. The atmosphere was filled with a spirit of pride and dedication as the party reaffirmed its commitment to the values Janeshwar Mishra stood for, social justice, equality, and the upliftment of the marginalized.

Addressing the gathering, Akhilesh Yadav recalled the humility, intellect, and unwavering principles of Janeshwar Mishra. “His politics was rooted in the service of the common man. He was not just a leader but a guide for all of us,” Yadav said. He emphasized the relevance of socialist ideals in today’s time and urged party workers to stay united in their resolve to fight for the rights of the people.

The event also featured a cultural tribute, with slogans echoing Mishra Ji’s contributions and the ideals he championed. Party flags fluttered across the park as workers and leaders pledged to carry forward his legacy. Janeshwar Mishra Park, built during the previous Samajwadi Party government, stood as a fitting venue for the occasion. The park, one of Asia’s largest, not only symbolizes the vision of green development but also serves as a living tribute to the leader whose name it bears.
As the ceremony concluded with the singing of patriotic songs and chants of “Samajwad Zindabad,” there was a palpable sense of solidarity and purpose among the attendees. The celebration served as both a remembrance and a rallying call, a reminder that Janeshwar Mishra’s dream of a just and equitable society continues to inspire the Samajwadi movement.
