In a swift response to a serious security incident, Kuwait’s Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah conducted an early morning inspection visit to Kuwait International Airport following a reported drone attack that targeted one of the airport’s critical facilities. The attack, which struck aircraft fuel tanks, triggered a fire and raised concerns over the safety of vital infrastructure.
The minister’s visit formed part of ongoing field monitoring efforts aimed at assessing the damage and ensuring that emergency operations were effectively underway. Upon arrival, he was briefed by officials from the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation and the Kuwait Fire Force, who provided a detailed account of the situation and the measures taken to contain it.

According to the briefing, the incident resulted in material damage only, with no human casualties reported. Firefighting teams acted promptly to bring the blaze under control, preventing further escalation. Authorities emphasized that rapid deployment and well-coordinated response efforts played a crucial role in minimizing the impact of the attack.
The review also highlighted the high level of coordination among multiple agencies involved in the emergency response. Teams from the Kuwaiti Army, the National Guard, and the Kuwait Oil Company worked alongside firefighters to secure the area and manage the situation efficiently.
