The Kuwait Municipality has announced plans to begin the removal of violating fixed and movable facilities near vital services and oil and gas pipelines in northern Kuwait, starting Sunday. This move is part of an ongoing effort to address municipal law violations that pose potential risks to essential infrastructure. The decision was reported by Al Jarida newspaper, with further details provided by Engineer Abdullah Al-Daihani, head of the Violations Removal Section at Jahra Municipality.
Al-Daihani confirmed that violating sites have already been identified and monitored in preparation for their removal. These facilities, which include both fixed and movable structures, were found to be in breach of municipal regulations and pose potential safety risks due to their proximity to vital services, including oil and gas pipelines. Ensuring the safety and security of these key infrastructure elements has become a priority for the municipality as it works to mitigate the risks posed by unauthorized constructions.
Al-Daihani emphasized the coordinated efforts between the Kuwait Municipality’s violations removal teams, the General Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries, and the Oil Company. These agencies have been conducting field campaigns to address the violations and ensure compliance with municipal laws and regulations. According to Al-Daihani, these field campaigns represent a concerted effort to safeguard the country’s critical infrastructure while upholding the rule of law.
“We urge all citizens and residents to cooperate with the field teams as we work to enforce municipal regulations,” Al-Daihani said. He assured that all violations will be systematically addressed by the municipality’s supervisory teams and that legal measures will be taken against offenders who fail to comply with the law. The removal of unauthorized structures near vital services, particularly oil and gas pipelines, underscores Kuwait’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of its infrastructure.
The collaboration between different governmental bodies highlights the importance of coordinated action in tackling municipal violations and ensuring public safety. As the campaign progresses, Kuwait Municipality has reiterated its stance that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the violations, reinforcing the importance of abiding by municipal laws to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
