An important gathering of the All India Shia Personal Law Board took place today at the Shia Degree College in Lucknow, where religious leaders came together not just for discussion, but to express strong emotions over recent global developments. The meeting was chaired by Maulana Syed Saem Mehdi Naqvi, while General Secretary Maulana Yasub Abbas addressed the audience with a passionate speech.
He congratulated the people and leadership of Iran, describing their recent conflict with the United States and Israel as a turning point. According to him, the outcome of the 40-day conflict has changed how the world sees Iran. “It is now clear that Iran is emerging as a superpower,” he said, reflecting a sentiment that resonated strongly with those present.

What stood out in his remarks was the emphasis on values. He said that even during the conflict, Iran maintained respect for international law and humanity, claiming it avoided targeting civilians, schools, and hospitals. He linked this approach to the teachings of the Quran, Prophet Muhammad, and the legacy of the Ahl al-Bayt.
The tone grew more emotional when he spoke about Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, praising his resilience and sacrifice. He contrasted this with earlier statements by Donald Trump, saying that threats to destroy Iran’s civilization have now given way to discussions around ceasefire terms. For him, this shift symbolized a moral and strategic victory for Iran.
Maulana Abbas also highlighted the spirit of resistance, saying Iran’s strength comes not just from weapons, but from faith and inspiration drawn from Imam Hussain and the story of Karbala. He framed the outcome as not only a setback for the U.S. and Israel, but also for countries like Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. Board President Maulana Naqvi added a somber note, paying tribute to those who lost their lives, especially children. He alleged that international laws were violated during the conflict and expressed grief over civilian casualties.
Despite the heavy themes, the gathering ended on a note of solidarity and emotion. Religious leaders and attendees held up images of Ayatollah Khamenei and Mojtaba Khamenei, raising slogans and congratulating one another. There was a visible sense of unity, as people embraced and celebrated what they believed to be a historic moment. More than just a formal meeting, the event reflected how deeply global politics can resonate at the community level—blending faith, identity, and geopolitics into a powerful collective expression.
