On the occasion of paying tribute to Swami Vivekananda, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav struck a deeply political yet socially rooted note by urging party workers to remain alert and proactive during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. His message was clear: no eligible voter from the PDA communities, Pichhda (Backward Classes), Dalit, and Alpsankhyak (Minorities) should be denied their democratic right due to negligence, bias, or administrative lapses.
Speaking to party cadre, Akhilesh Yadav underlined that elections are not merely about winning power but about safeguarding democracy itself. He expressed concern that during large-scale verification exercises like SIR, vulnerable communities often face the risk of their names being wrongly deleted from voter lists. Such exclusions, he warned, weaken the democratic foundation of the country and silence voices that already struggle to be heard.

“Every vote matters, and every citizen matters,” Yadav reminded party workers, urging them to stand beside people at the grassroots. He called upon Samajwadi Party volunteers to help citizens understand the verification process, assist them with documentation, and ensure that genuine voters are not struck off the rolls. According to him, this responsibility goes beyond party politics and reflects a moral duty toward society.
Drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda, Akhilesh Yadav connected the present challenge to the timeless ideals of social justice and equality. He said Vivekananda envisioned an India where strength comes from unity and where the upliftment of the weakest determines the nation’s progress. “True homage to Swami Vivekananda lies not in speeches alone, but in action, by standing with the poor, the backward, and the marginalized,” he said.
The Samajwadi Party chief also stressed that the PDA alliance is not just an electoral strategy but a social commitment. He described it as a platform built on shared struggles and collective aspirations, aiming to secure dignity, representation, and opportunity for all. Yadav reiterated that his party has always stood with farmers, workers, youth, and minorities, and will continue to do so in the face of any injustice.
At the organizational level, Yadav instructed party workers to maintain close coordination with election officials, promptly raise objections where discrepancies are found, and document cases of wrongful deletions. He emphasized that vigilance at the booth and village level is essential to prevent the misuse of administrative processes.
Akhilesh Yadav appealed to party cadre to work with patience, compassion, and discipline. He urged them to combine political awareness with social service, reflecting the spirit of Swami Vivekananda’s call for selfless action. “Democracy survives when every citizen’s voice is protected,” he said, reaffirming that the Samajwadi Party would remain committed to defending that principle, today and in the future.
