Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today unveiled a book titled “Aligarh Muslim University” at the Samajwadi Party state headquarters in Lucknow on the completion of 100 years (1920–2020) of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The book has been authored by Prof. Abdul Rahim Bijapur and Prof. Rahat Abrar, and published by Dr. M.P. Yadav. Congratulating the authors, Akhilesh Yadav said that they have connected everyone to a long and rich history.
He said the book contains information and photographs covering 100 years of history. In an age dominated by social media and various platforms, producing such a detailed table book and presenting historical knowledge is highly commendable. He further said that after great effort, this 100-year collection has been prepared, and it is a matter of good fortune for him to release it. He added that AMU alumni are spread across the country and the world, excelling in every field. They are serving in institutions and society everywhere, promoting Indian values globally through their talent and enhancing India’s honor.

Yadav said that AMU and BHU are such universities from where many distinguished personalities have emerged and established prestige. He said that meeting many professors today was an honor, and that all are strengthening the spirit of India. He added that everyone is united and ready to struggle for justice and respect for PDA in the future. He said that only through education will the country progress and prosperity come. He assured the people of AMU that the Samajwadi Party will work to further strengthen the secular and democratic character of the nation.
He added that they will continue fighting against authoritarianism and those who disregard the Constitution. On this occasion, author Prof. Abdul Rahim Bijapur said that the book was written after four to five years of research and documents the 100-year history of Aligarh Muslim University. The other author, Prof. Rahat Abrar, said that Sir Syed Ahmad Khan laid the foundation of AMU in 1875 and worked for Hindu-Muslim unity. He said the doors of AMU are open to all and shared details about the centenary publication.

Akhilesh Yadav also congratulated all toppers of the High School and Intermediate Board examinations, saying that through their hard work they have brought pride to their schools, homes, and families. He wished them a bright future. In the presence of former minister Mr. Narendra Verma, he presented iPads to Anshika Verma, Kashish Verma, and Shikha Verma, who were board exam toppers. He also met and congratulated Jitendra Singh Yadav “Jeetu”, who was elected General Secretary in the Lucknow Bar Association elections, along with several accompanying advocates.
Akhilesh Yadav further said that the gruesome murder of a Dalit girl in Pratapgarh is extremely tragic and condemnable. He questioned why the killings of “PDA daughters” continue in Uttar Pradesh and whether the BJP government’s claims of women’s safety are hollow or discriminatory. He also criticized the Chief Minister, saying that when he gets free from election campaigning, he should pay attention to the plight of the daughters of Uttar Pradesh. He reminded him of the case of a girl from Kanpur who had publicly expressed despair after repeatedly seeking an appointment with him. He urged him to meet the helpless girl at least to uphold the dignity of his office and said this is the demand of the entire state.
