Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has emphasized the importance of continuing and enhancing strategic partnerships with global technology leaders such as Intel Corporation. He stated that such collaborations must align with the country’s ongoing technological progress and economic developments.
The Prime Minister shared his remarks through his official Facebook page following a courtesy visit from an Intel delegation, led by Dr. Naga Chandrasekaran, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology and Operations Officer of Intel Foundry, earlier today.
Intel, a renowned US-based tech giant, has long played a significant role in Malaysia’s semiconductor industry. As one of the early investors in the sector, Intel’s involvement has been instrumental in positioning Malaysia as a key player in the global technology supply chain.
“In this meeting, Intel expressed its appreciation for the continued support from the Malaysian government,” Anwar noted. He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for innovation, investment, and industrial growth.
The discussions focused on enhancing existing cooperation and exploring new avenues to further Malaysia’s standing in the global tech arena. The Prime Minister underscored the need to adapt partnerships like these in line with evolving technological landscapes and the nation’s economic priorities.
This engagement reflects the government’s proactive approach in supporting foreign investors while also ensuring that strategic collaborations contribute meaningfully to national development. Strengthening ties with global technology leaders like Intel is seen as a vital step in driving Malaysia’s ambition to become a high-tech, innovation-driven economy.
