In a dazzling display of linguistic and cultural harmony, Jashn-e-Urdu, a prominent organization dedicated to promoting the Urdu-Hindi language and Indian culture in the Middle East, hosted an international Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Dubai. Poets from India, Pakistan, and Canada converged in a celebration that not only showcased their literary prowess but also conveyed a powerful message of peace and love to the world.
The event took place amid the poetic ambiance created by the participating wordsmiths who transported the audience into a world of eloquence and beauty through their verses. The collaborative effort of poets from different nations served as a testament to the unifying power of language and the arts.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Mohabbat-e-Urdu Award to distinguished individuals who have significantly contributed to the promotion of Hindi-Urdu language and culture. Bani Parvez Ahmad from Sahi Virasat, an organization championing these languages in India, Mirza Naseem Baig, Syed Abbas from Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), and Salim Chauhan from Maharashtra were among the esteemed awardees. The recognition underscored their commitment to fostering linguistic and cultural bonds.
Syed Farhan Wasti, the Chairman of Jashn-e-Urdu, spoke passionately about the profound influence of India and its languages on promoting love and relationships worldwide. He emphasized that those who speak and understand these languages embody a spirit of peace and brotherhood. For two decades, Jashn-e-Urdu has tirelessly worked towards promoting the rich tapestry of Indian culture through Mushairas in Dubai and Sharjah.
The international poet Rajesh Reddy, delivering the presidential address, lauded Syed Farhan Wasti’s efforts, stating that he is sowing the seeds of flowers in the desert through the language of love. Reddy expressed admiration for Dubai as a space where artistic boundaries dissolve, allowing artists from diverse backgrounds to unite on a common platform. Wasti’s ability to convey messages of brotherhood through his pen and couplets resonated with the global audience.
The Mushaira and Kavi Sammelan featured an array of talented poets who mesmerized the audience with their poetic expressions. Tariq Sabzwari, Ahmad Salman, Imran Pratapgarhi, Ali Zaroon, Azam Shakiri, Manika Dubey, Shambhu Shikhar, Adil Rashid, and Ismail Raz created a captivating atmosphere with their evocative verses. The event was meticulously organized by Nadeem Farrukh, adding to the seamless flow of artistic brilliance.
Among the distinguished guests were individuals who have been instrumental in making India proud in Dubai, including Shazma Alvi, Mohammad Zubair, Harish Mishra, and Iqbal Ahmad. Their presence added a touch of prestige to the occasion, highlighting the global impact of Indian culture and language enthusiasts.
