Renowned poet and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Imran Pratapgarhi, recently graced a gathering hosted by the Indian community in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event, held in a spacious function hall, witnessed a substantial turnout of both men and women from the Indian community. Imran’s visit to Saudi Arabia has been a momentous occasion for the Indian diaspora, and his words carried profound significance.
Imran Pratapgarhi commenced his speech by extending heartfelt congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with special mention of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Muhammad bin Salman. He lauded the exemplary arrangements for Hajj and the unparalleled services provided to the pilgrims. Imran also expressed his gratitude on behalf of all Indians for Saudi Arabia’s longstanding support and for being a host to millions of Indian expatriates for over five decades.
While addressing the audience, Imran delved into the current situation in India and the efforts of the opposition. He reminded everyone that not every battle is fought solely to secure a victory; sometimes, it’s about proving one’s existence and standing up for what one believes in. He expressed his admiration for the Indian expatriates living in Saudi Arabia, most of whom have been there for several decades. Imran praised their good health, energy, and their dedication to fulfilling both their official duties and their social responsibilities. He noted how they channel their energy into activities such as organizing hunting excursions.
Imran’s words resonated deeply with the audience, making them feel as if they were connected to the entirety of India. The gathering began with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Qari Abdul Rehman Omari, setting a spiritual and reverent tone for the event. Sohail Ahmed, the event moderator, provided introductory remarks, while senior NRI Abdul Ahad Siddiqui welcomed the audience and gave a detailed introduction of the chief guest, Imran Pratapgarhi.
The stage was graced by several dignitaries, including Talibur Rehman, Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Dilnawaz Rumi, Muhammad Fakhar Alam, Engineer Abdul Bari, Abdul Ahad Siddiqui, Amanullah Khan, Hamir Khan, Abu Talib Rahmani, Asif Rameez Dawoodi, Hafiz Jamil ur Rehman, Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed, Dr. Afzal Imtiaz, and Eng Mohammad Khaiyam.
The gathering also featured addresses from senior journalist Mohammad Ghazanfar Ali Khan, Jharkhand minority chief Umir Khan, AMOBA president Riyaz Abrar Hussain, Abu Talib Rahmani, and Mutiur Rahman.
