Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav struck an emotional and hopeful note while addressing a unique “Holi–Eid gathering,” presenting it as a celebration of togetherness in times that often feel divided. Giving the event a heartfelt touch, he called it the “Gujiya-Sevai Milap Ceremony,”(a gathering of unity with gujiya and sevai sweets) saying the idea was simple, to spread sweetness at a time when bitterness seems to be growing in public life. He pointed out how special the moment was: a Holi celebration coinciding with Mahavir Jayanti. For him, this was not just a coincidence but a reflection of India’s real identity, where different faiths, traditions, and festivals naturally come together. Calling it the “message of PDA,” Yadav stressed that unity and shared joy are what truly define the country.

The atmosphere at the gathering was warm and lively, with people from different communities coming together, exchanging greetings, and sharing traditional sweets like gujiya and sevai. It was less about politics and more about people, about smiles, conversations, and the simple joy of being together. At the same time, Yadav did not shy away from taking an indirect swipe at those he believes thrive on division. He suggested that such scenes of harmony might not sit well with everyone. According to him, those who try to break social bonds can never really understand the happiness that comes from meeting, hugging, and celebrating together. In a time when public discourse is often sharp and polarized, the gathering stood out as a gentle reminder of India’s shared culture. It showed that beyond differences, there is still a strong desire among people to stay connected, celebrate together, and keep the spirit of brotherhood alive.
