The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada) has launched a three-day exhibition in the Governorate of Dhofar, showcasing enterprises that have benefited from the Authority’s funding programmes. The exhibition, which opened today, provides a substantive platform for entrepreneurs to demonstrate the viability of their ventures, highlight their achievements and establish connections with potential investors.
The initiative reflects Riyada’s broader commitment to strengthening the small and medium enterprise sector and enhancing its contribution to economic diversification. By bringing funded enterprises under one roof, the exhibition enables entrepreneurs to present their products, services and business models while sharing practical experiences and lessons derived from their entrepreneurial journeys.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Ghassani, Director of the Department of the SMEs Development Authority in Dhofar Governorate, said the exhibition seeks to support entrepreneurs and SME owners by providing them with an effective platform to showcase their projects and experiences. He further emphasised its role in facilitating direct communication between entrepreneurs and investors, thereby creating opportunities for potential partnerships and fresh investment initiatives.
The exhibition also seeks to stimulate the development of innovative solutions by encouraging interaction, knowledge exchange and collaboration among participating enterprises. Such engagement can help businesses identify emerging market opportunities, overcome operational challenges and strengthen their competitiveness. Running until August 15, 2026, the exhibition features several success stories emerging from Riyada’s funded enterprises.
These examples demonstrate how targeted financial support can help transform entrepreneurial concepts into functioning businesses and create sustainable economic value. The event also encourages cooperation among funded enterprises, fostering a more interconnected entrepreneurial ecosystem in Dhofar. Through investment engagement, knowledge-sharing and collaboration, the exhibition seeks to consolidate the foundations for stronger SMEs capable of contributing significantly to Oman’s economic development and diversification objectives.
