British Embassy honors Eng Faisal Al-Atal for strengthening British-Kuwaiti engineering ties

The British Embassy in Kuwait honored Engineer Faisal Al-Atal, the former president of the Kuwait Society of Engineers, for his outstanding role in fostering strong ties between the engineering communities of Kuwait and the United Kingdom. In a private ceremony at her residence, British Ambassador H.E. Belinda Lewis presented Al-Atal with a certificate of appreciation, commending his leadership and dedication to bilateral cooperation.

The event was attended by key members of the Kuwait Society of Engineers, including its current chairman Eng. Mohammed Al-Subaie, vice chairman Eng. Rashid Al-Atal, secretary Eng. Fahad Ardini, and other current and former board members. Also present were representatives from the embassy’s Business and Trade team, led by First Secretary for Commercial Affairs and Regional Trade Director, Ms. Naz Nur Demir. Ambassador Lewis welcomed the new leadership of the Society and praised the fruitful cooperation during Engineer Al-Atal’s tenure, expressing hope for continued collaboration under the new board.

She highlighted the Society’s pivotal role in enhancing UK-Kuwait relations through professional exchange and technical collaboration. Ms. Demir also delivered a heartfelt tribute to Engineer Al-Atal, recognizing his contributions to advancing the engineering field in Kuwait and bridging professional relations with the UK. Engineer Al-Subaie expressed appreciation for his predecessor’s efforts and affirmed the Society’s commitment to further strengthening ties with British counterparts, especially in professional development and engineering innovation.

Engineer Faisal Al-Atal emphasized that the achievements made were the result of joint efforts between the Society and British engineering institutions, with essential backing from the UK Embassy. He pledged to continue supporting these relations through future engagements. The ceremony also served as a platform to review past achievements and explore prospects for deeper collaboration between the two sides.
