In an incident that captured hearts across Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demonstrated not just leadership but deep compassion when a Class 7 student, Pankhuri Tripathi, approached him at his Janata Darbar on July 1 with a heartfelt plea she needed help to continue her education. The young girl, who dreams of becoming an IAS officer, was struggling to pay her school fees following her father’s job loss due to a leg injury.
Moved by her determination and sincerity, Chief Minister Adityanath immediately reassured her. “Either your fees will be waived, or we will arrange the amount,” he told her warmly, even handing her a chocolate in a gesture that reflected his humane and approachable nature. This moment was not just about words, it was a promise from a leader who has repeatedly emphasized that no child in Uttar Pradesh should be denied education due to poverty.
While the RSS-run Vidya Bharati school management initially declined the fee waiver, citing financial constraints and lack of provisions, the real story is how Yogi Adityanath’s words have given new hope to a struggling family. Pankhuri’s father, Rajiv Kumar Tripathi, said, “We are associated with the Math and Maharaj ji (Yogi Adityanath) and we believe he will ensure my daughter’s education.” This statement of trust is reflective of the growing public faith in the CM’s commitment to uplifting the underprivileged.
Yogi Adityanath’s approach to governance, especially in the field of education and welfare, has always been centered around inclusivity. His intervention in this matter reflects a larger philosophy that the government must act as a guardian when families face genuine distress. Despite bureaucratic hurdles or institutional policies, the fact remains that a Chief Minister took personal notice of a Class 7 girl’s education, proving once again that the youth and their future are a priority in his governance model.
