In a world where resilience is often talked about but rarely lived, Alma Chopra stands tall as a beacon of grit, grace, and purpose. A life coach, entrepreneur, and disability activist, Alma’s story is not just one of personal triumph it’s a testament to the power of unyielding will and the unshakable belief that no limitation defines a life.

Diagnosed with cerebellar ataxia, a rare neurological disorder that impairs coordination and motor control, Alma’s journey has been anything but easy. Every step, every movement—challenged. Yet, she refused to let her condition dictate her future. Instead, she turned adversity into fuel, forging ahead with determination and vision.

Alma’s academic journey reflects this relentless pursuit of knowledge and self-mastery. With honours degrees in Psychology, English, and Spanish, followed by a law degree from Case Western Reserve University, she built a foundation of resilience through learning. Her career trajectory from administrative assistant to Vice President of Human Resources at leading firms like Campus Consortium, EXC Managed Services, EVC Ventures, and Regarde Familia is proof that no ceiling is too high for a determined spirit. But Alma’s story is more than corporate success.

In 2021, she felt a deeper calling: to transform her personal experience into a catalyst for change. This vision crystallized into reality in 2024 with the founding of the Almawakening Foundation (AAF), a bold, inclusive NGO in Gurugram, dedicated to empowering individuals of diverse abilities. Alma’s mission is clear: Inclusion is not an option it’s a necessity. Through AAF, she leads initiatives that challenge stigma, educate communities, and build bridges:

  • Sensitization seminars to foster empathy and understanding
  • Awareness campaigns that dismantle societal biases
  • Skill-building workshops that empower individuals
  • Therapy and family support programs that nurture holistic well-being

Alma’s impact has not gone unnoticed. In 2025, she was named among India’s Most Influential People a testament to her tireless advocacy. As a sought-after DEI speaker, Alma ignites critical conversations at national and international platforms. At Purple Fest Delhi, she stood as the Ambassador for Inclusion and Accessibility, leading awareness efforts and shifting mindsets about disability and rights.

Today, Alma Chopra is more than a leader; she’s a movement in motion. Her life is a powerful reminder that true leadership is born from empathy, courage, and an unshakable commitment to inclusion. Through her work, she inspires a world where every ability is valued, every voice is heard, and every barrier is meant to be broken.
