Akhilesh Yadav, National President of the Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister, said that under the Bharatiya Janata Party government, women and girls are the most insecure. He stated that incidents of rape, murder, and sexual assault against women are continuously increasing. He alleged that the BJP government has done nothing for women’s health, education, and dignity. He added that women need protection along with reservation.
Mr. Yadav said that the Chief Minister himself is anti-women and that the BJP is completely against women. He further claimed that the BJP government has done nothing for women and discriminates against them. He accused the BJP of spreading false propaganda against the Samajwadi Party. Speaking to the media after attending a program in Etawah, Yadav said that the Samajwadi Party wants a caste census, but the BJP does not want it. He said that after a caste census, the oppressed, deprived, and backward sections of society would receive their rightful share and respect.
He alleged that the BJP government is not implementing the reservation provisions given in the Constitution by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and is harming the democratic system. He said the BJP is against PDA. Replying to a question, Yadav said that the BJP would face a historic defeat in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Election. He predicted that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would once again win with a huge majority.
Yadav also said that under the BJP government, Etawah has faced large-scale discrimination. He claimed that the BJP wants to stop the development of Etawah and ruin it. He alleged that land mafias linked to the BJP have occupied lands in Etawah and damaged rivers and forests. He said the BJP government has created difficulties for people by increasing inflation and unemployment, and that farmers are suffering under this government. Earlier in the day, Yadav attended the 108 Kundiya Mahayagya and Bhagwat Katha organized at Shri Ramakrishna Param Dham in Chakarnagar, Etawah, where he sought blessings.
He said that the path of religion is the path of justice and prosperity, and that religion does not discriminate against anyone. Yadav added that there was a time when the Etawah region was considered highly inaccessible. After Netaji and the Samajwadi Party government came to power, Etawah and nearby areas saw large-scale development. As a result, roads and bridges were built, and ambulance services and Dial 100 police services began reaching villages.
