Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of the Sultan of Oman, paid a visit on Wednesday to the Omani Women’s Association in Salalah. The visit formed part of her continued commitment to supporting the contributions of Omani women to national development and community work.

Upon arrival, Her Highness was received by His Highness Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar; Dr Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development; Noor Hassan Al Ghassani, Chairperson of the Omani Women’s Association in Salalah; and the chairpersons of the Omani Women’s Associations across Dhofar Governorate.

During her tour of the association premises, the Honourable Lady viewed a gathering of the Omani women’s associations in Dhofar. A key highlight was the Heritage House, which displayed models of traditional crafts and women’s handicrafts reflecting the richness of Dhofar’s folk heritage. The exhibits underscored ongoing efforts to preserve and develop these traditions and transform them into products of economic and social value.

Her Highness also toured the exhibition hall, which featured pavilions representing the various Omani Women’s Associations in the governorate. Association chairpersons presented a range of initiatives, voluntary and community achievements, and women’s projects. The Honourable Lady acquainted herself with the ideas and experiences embodied in these initiatives, which demonstrated the spirit of initiative and social responsibility among the women of Dhofar.

At the conclusion of the visit, Her Highness inscribed a commemorative entry in the association’s book. In it she expressed her appreciation for the efforts exerted by the associations, commending the diversity of their programmes and projects, the attention paid to heritage, and their effective contribution to serving women and society.
