The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), in collaboration with the World Bank, has concluded a five-day international program in Belgium and Germany aimed at strengthening global cooperation in data governance, artificial intelligence, and digital policymaking. Held in Brussels and Berlin, the initiative brought together government officials, policymakers, experts, and representatives from international organizations to examine emerging trends and regulatory approaches shaping the future of AI.

The program featured a series of meetings and specialized sessions with European institutions, nonprofit organizations, think tanks, and leading entities focused on digital transformation and AI governance. During the discussions, Saudi delegates presented the Kingdom’s progress in building a comprehensive national ecosystem for data and artificial intelligence. Participants highlighted Saudi Arabia’s achievements in developing robust data governance frameworks, advancing digital policies, and promoting the responsible use of advanced technologies.

Key topics included international cooperation in AI, data privacy and governance, cross-border challenges associated with emerging technologies, and the development of regulatory frameworks that encourage innovation while ensuring ethical standards and public trust. The Saudi and World Bank teams also explored global best practices in digital policy development and examined mechanisms for strengthening international knowledge exchange. Discussions emphasized the importance of fostering sustainable partnerships to accelerate innovation and support responsible digital transformation.

The initiative forms part of SDAIA’s broader strategy to deepen international engagement and build long-term partnerships with leading global institutions. By leveraging international expertise and successful regulatory models, Saudi Arabia aims to further enhance its position as a global leader in data and artificial intelligence. Aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s Year of AI 2026, the program underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to creating a future-ready, knowledge-driven digital economy.
