Samajwadi Party National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP government is undemocratic and inhumane. He said there are no civilized people in this government. From Ghazipur to Hathras and Hardoi, daughters have been murdered, yet justice has not been delivered. Just as in Ghazipur, people from various parties stood up to seek justice for the daughter of the Balmiki community in Hathras, but this government failed to provide justice. He said that BJP leaders even did not allow the family to perform the last rites.

In Sanatan Dharma, no one is stopped from conducting funeral rites, but the BJP government prevented even that. Several such incidents have occurred in Uttar Pradesh, and the victim families have not received justice. Speaking at a press conference at the Samajwadi Party state headquarters in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav said that the Samajwadi Party delegation going to meet the victim’s family in Ghazipur is being targeted. FIRs are being filed after identifying party workers. He said that, like Ghazipur, in Hardoi a daughter from the Kushwaha community was brutally murdered, Sonu Kashyap was killed in Meerut, and in Bijnor a daughter from the Saini community was also murdered.

Yadav said that socialists must shoulder a major responsibility to ensure justice for PDA, and to save democracy and the Constitution. He further said that injustice and atrocities have reached their peak under the BJP government. In the capital Lucknow, BJP leaders are acting like land mafias. Before any development scheme is announced, BJP leaders allegedly buy land in advance. He said all ponds in Lucknow have been encroached upon. Corruption and loot are at their peak, while goons and mafias are roaming freely in Uttar Pradesh. He asked when action would be taken against them.

Referring to Lucknow’s Green Corridor, he said ₹7,000 crore has been spent, yet traffic remains stuck at every intersection. A Green Corridor means traffic should not stop anywhere, but the design itself is flawed. He remarked that it seems the corridor was designed not by engineers but by the Chief Minister himself. He added that every section of society is suffering due to corruption and injustice under the BJP government. Even officers are now quietly talking about PDA.

On West Bengal, Yadav said that Mamata Banerjee is heading toward a historic victory and added that they are campaigning for her through television channels from here. He also alleged that the BJP government is troubling and looting the public through smart meters. Large-scale irregularities have taken place in smart meter procurement. The government is taking money from the public and putting it into the pockets of industrialists. He said the BJP government has not set up even a single power plant during its tenure, and the solar plants installed are only to benefit its own people.

He further said that the state’s health system has collapsed. Treatment is not available in government hospitals, PHCs, and CHCs. Patients suffering from liver, kidney, and heart diseases are not getting treatment. He said the Samajwadi government had established a Cancer Research Institute, such a facility that does not even exist in Delhi, but this government has ruined it. There are neither doctors nor adequate facilities there. According to him, appointments of directors in institutions are being made for political benefit rather than healthcare improvement. He said only a Samajwadi government can improve electricity, health, education, and other systems in the state.

On farmers’ issues, he said wheat procurement is not taking place properly. There are not enough procurement centres, while private players have been given licenses and are buying wheat. The government has imposed various conditions that are confusing farmers, allowing their wheat to pass through middlemen and reach large flour businesses. He alleged that only a few big companies are purchasing most of the wheat and earning profits by exploiting farmers’ produce.

Regarding recent fire incidents in Lucknow, Ghaziabad, and other places, he said it is being heard that BJP leaders are getting fires started to vacate land. Where fires break out, neither fire brigades nor ambulances reach on time. Replying to a question, Yadav said the BJP government has always suppressed women’s voices and never delivered justice to women. He alleged that the BJP wants to snatch the rights of PDA and has dishonest intentions regarding women’s reservation. He said the BJP does not want to provide reservation to women and is spreading false propaganda on the issue. Women, he said, need not only reservation but also protection.
