The State of Kuwait has issued a strong condemnation of what it described as the continued “heinous Iranian aggression” against its territory, following the latest incident at the Al-Abdaly border crossing on Thursday. In an official statement, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the attack in the strongest possible terms, calling it a grave violation of the country’s sovereignty and a serious threat to regional peace and stability.
According to the ministry, the incident represents a blatant infringement of Kuwait’s territorial integrity and poses a direct danger to the security of the nation, as well as to the safety of its citizens and residents. The government emphasized that such actions are unacceptable under international law and undermine the principles that govern peaceful relations between states.
The Foreign Ministry stated that the repeated acts of aggression constitute a serious breach of the United Nations Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 2817, both of which underscore the importance of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations. Kuwait warned that the continuation of such hostile actions reflects an unjustifiable and systematic escalation that threatens not only Kuwait’s national security but also the broader stability of the Gulf region.
In its statement, Kuwait stressed that maintaining regional peace requires strict adherence to international law and mutual respect among neighboring countries. The government urged the international community to recognize the seriousness of these developments and reaffirm the principles of sovereignty, non-interference, and peaceful coexistence.
The ministry further declared that Kuwait reserves its legitimate and inalienable right to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security. Citing Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, the government reiterated its right to self-defense against any armed aggression while remaining committed to acting within the framework of international law.
Kuwait has long advocated dialogue, diplomacy, and regional cooperation as the preferred means of resolving disputes. However, officials made it clear that repeated violations of the country’s borders and security cannot be tolerated. The government emphasized that safeguarding the nation’s stability remains its highest priority and that every appropriate step will be taken to ensure the protection of its people and territory.
The latest incident has once again drawn attention to the fragile security environment in the Gulf, where regional tensions continue to pose challenges to peace and economic development. Analysts note that any escalation involving Gulf states has implications far beyond the immediate area, affecting international trade, maritime security, and global energy markets.
Kuwait reaffirmed its commitment to working with regional and international partners to preserve stability while defending its national interests. The Foreign Ministry concluded by emphasizing that respect for international law, state sovereignty, and peaceful coexistence remains the only sustainable path toward lasting security and prosperity in the region. At the same time, it underscored that Kuwait will remain vigilant and resolute in confronting any threat to its independence, sovereignty, or the safety of those living within its borders.
