St Paul’s College, Lucknow, celebrated the 80th anniversary of India’s Independence with patriotic fervour, institutional pride and youthful enthusiasm. The function  commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem, creating a solemn and inspiring atmosphere that underscored the significance of the occasion. The Chief Guest, Lieutenant Colonel Sushant Nigam, an alumnus of the college, was warmly welcomed by the Principal, Reverend Father Anil Parker.

Members of the St Paul’s Alumni Association, teachers, students and parents participated in the celebration with enthusiasm. A spectacular march-past by the four houses, Nehru, Ashoka, Subhash and Tagore, constituted one of the principal highlights of the programme. Displaying immaculate discipline, synchronisation and patriotic spirit, the students presented an impressive demonstration of collective responsibility and institutional ethos. The cultural segment further enriched the celebrations, with students presenting patriotic songs and delivering thought-provoking speeches.

Through their performances, they articulated their pride in the nation and emphasised the enduring values of freedom, unity, civic responsibility and national commitment. The college management also honoured teachers and a supporting staff member for maintaining cent per cent attendance, recognising their exceptional dedication, punctuality and unwavering commitment to the institution. Academic distinction was another significant feature of the ceremony.

The Prabhat Jain Memorial Trophy for outstanding performance in the ISC Examination 2026 was awarded to Ajitansh Pratap Singh, while the Pankaj Awasthi Memorial Trophy for remarkable achievement in the ICSE Examination 2026 was presented to Jhanvi Agarwal. The prestigious Genius of the Year Trophy, recognising exceptional academic accomplishment, all-round excellence and exemplary performance, was conferred upon Shreya Gupta.

The trophies were presented by Chief Guest Lieutenant Colonel Sushant Nigam and former President of the St Paul’s Alumni Association, Ashish Yadav. Adding further distinction to the occasion was the formal launch of the college’s annual magazine, Arma Lucis. The publication chronicles the institution’s academic, cultural and co-curricular journey, while reflecting the creativity and achievements of its students.
