Amid the ongoing politics over women’s reservation, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, while speaking on the special session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly called on Thursday, 30 April, targeted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and said that the real chameleon is the Chief Minister himself, who wants to turn ‘Nari Vandan’ (Women’s Respect) into ‘Naara Vandan’ (Slogan Respect). He said, “Yesterday we were listening to CM Yogi in the House.
The entire BJP is trying to prove on the issue of women’s reservation that the opposition is against it. The truth is that the BJP does not want to give reservation to the women of the country.” Countering the CM’s “chameleon” remark, the SP chief said, “If you look closely, a chameleon changes from one colour to another. The real work of a chameleon is being done by the BJP. The BJP’s conspiracy has failed, that is why they have brought this proposal in the Assembly. Their conspiracy has been exposed.
Under the same conspiracy, they are continuously doing this on the streets and in the House. Their language is chameleon-like. You yourselves know who the real chameleon is. Women are extremely unsafe. Because of the way the BJP works, people are not respecting the law. They have no faith left in judicial institutions for justice.” On Friday in Lucknow, a programme was organised at the Samajwadi Party office on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. Buddhist monks gave messages of peace, equality, and compassion through prayers and sermons.
Followers of Buddhism reached the SP office, where Buddha Dharma was described as the eternal and original religion of India. Social issues were also discussed during the programme, which was attended by a large number of people, creating an atmosphere of religious and social unity. That is why the House was called in the middle of the elections. Perhaps it has rarely happened in India or the world that the House was summoned for such an important decision in the middle of elections. All this was done as part of a well-planned strategy and conspiracy so that the opposition could be defamed.
